As some of you know, Cheryl went in to the hospital as she was having a hard time breathing and was retaining lots of fluids in her abdomen. they drained off 4 liter there and 1 liter on her lung. Through tests they discovered she also has a blood clot in her portal vein.
they taught me to give her shots in her abdomen for blood thinners and sent her home.
On Mon. 8/1/11 we went in for chemo and checkup. Immediately the doctor wanted her in the hospital and said if we can get some of these other things under control, maybe we'd discuss further chemo. but also added that she is very very sick and weak and things are not looking good.
he told me if I wanted to spend time with Cheryl I better do it now, with questions we both had, he said she may or may not leave the hospital.
On this hospital stay. they decided to insert a tube into her abdomen that I could drain if she made it home.
it's Friday the 5th now, Cheryl is at home and I've removed 2 liters fluid a day for 3 days now. She is very sick, confused, and weak. but she is at home where she wants to be. We go to the doctors Mon. the 8th and we'll see what he says then.

Since last update, things have changed.
Sat. morning Cheryl took a big change for the worse.
She was put on Home Hospice, as this is where she wants to be.
Each day now has gotten worse. (hard to believe)
So far today (tues.) she hasn't been able to leave the bed. and sometimes knows we are here. Just so weak. The Hospice nurses say they think maybe 1 or 2 weeks.

I just want to let all of you know.
At 6:44 pm Sat. Aug. 13th Cheryl went home to be with the Lord.
Services will be Wed. Aug. 17th at 10:00 am at Kingsway Christian Church.
Please allow me a few weeks and then I'll re-open the Salon.

It was a long hard fight, and there were so many positives that were seen throughout these last 4 years. She was blessed as we were.
Cheryl was able to pass at home in her own bed as she wanted in the end.
She will be so missed.
Today is Sat. Aug. 20th, 2011.
It has been one week today that Cheryl passed. I can't say that there's a minute I don't think of her and miss her badly, of course I know she is in her final well deserved resting place, but it is still hard for us here.

I will re-open the salon on Tues. Aug. 30th.
